Job summary

Northwest Medical Center is seeking a full-time Environmental Services Worker I to support the Housekeeping department at the Tucson campus. The role performs cleaning, floor care, and waste management to maintain a clean, safe environment for patients and staff.

The position requires 1–2 years of cleaning experience (preferred); evening shift 3:00 pm–11:30 pm with weekend/holiday rotation. Training on infection control and HIPAA compliance is provided as needed.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of cleaning or environmental service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and products.
• Understanding of infection control and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes assigned areas (rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, elevators) per infection control standards.
• Sweeps, mops, vacuums, and dusts floors, furniture, and equipment.
• Maintains floors and surfaces by stripping, refinishing, and treating as per procedures.
• Washes walls, ceilings, windows, and other surfaces to maintain hygiene.
• Restocks supplies and reports shortages to ensure availability.
• Handles trash and biohazardous materials safely per safety protocols.
• Operates and maintains cleaning equipment and reports malfunctions.
• Assists with minor repairs and notifies facilities for major issues.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains regular attendance.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
