The role supports the Housekeeping department on the evening shift, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The Environmental Service Worker I performs cleaning, floor care, and waste management while upholding infection control standards and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of cleaning or environmental service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning products and techniques.
• Ability to follow infection control and safety standards.
• Strong attention to detail and time management.
• Effective communication with staff, patients, and visitors.
• Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks and lift/move objects.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize rooms, hallways, and restrooms per infection control standards.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors and furnishings.
• Maintain floors and upholstery according to procedures.
• Wash walls, ceilings, windows, and woodwork.
• Restock supplies and monitor inventory.
• Handle trash and biohazard materials following safety protocols.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment; report malfunctions.
• Assist with minor repairs and report larger issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain regular, reliable attendance.
• Comply with all policies and standards.
