Job summary

The Center for Women and Families in Louisville, KY, is seeking a Supervisor of Emergency Services (2nd shift) to oversee the on-site emergency shelter and 24/7 crisis response.

You will supervise advocates, coordinate with hospital and court staff, ensure trauma-informed, client-centered services, and maintain safety protocols while coaching staff and documenting outcomes. This role requires on-site availability, some weekends, and a commitment to equitable care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human services, or related field; equivalent crisis services experience considered.
• Experience working with survivors of intimate partner violence or sexual assault in crisis or shelter settings.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure, make sound decisions in urgent situations, and maintain professional boundaries.
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and non-discriminatory practices, and respectful engagement with diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Oversee on-site emergency shelter and 24/7 crisis response during the evening shift.
• Supervise advocates, schedule and coach staff, and handle escalated client concerns.
• Coordinate services with hospital and court personnel to ensure seamless support.
• Maintain accurate documentation and support compliance with agency policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with other supervisors to improve service quality and staff training; foster a positive work environment.
