Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing is required.
• CT RN license is required.
• CPR certification required; obtain within 3 months if not current.
• Additional specialty certification as required by the work area.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, evaluate, and communicate all phases of nursing care in the ED.
• Assess health status through history and exam.
• Initiate procedures and consults; adjust care per protocols.
• Educate patients on health promotion and disease prevention.
• Document findings and plans in the medical record.
• Collaborate with physicians per hospital policy.
• Maintain patient safety and monitor intervention effectiveness.
