Job summary

Day Kimball Health is hiring an Emergency Mental Health Clinician for a per diem position on 2nd shift in Putnam, CT. This role entails providing direct services to psychiatric patients of all ages in an emergency room setting, including evaluation, counseling, and referral to aftercare.

The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s degree or doctorate in Psychology, with licensure in Connecticut preferred. We offer a supportive environment aimed at delivering high-quality community healthcare.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (MSW, MS, MA) or doctorate (Ph.D., Psy.D.) required.
• Licensure in Connecticut as LPC, LCSW, Psychologist, or LMFT preferred.
• 2-3 years of experience in a psychiatric setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct services to psychiatric patients in an emergency room.
• Evaluates psychiatric patients under a psychiatrist's supervision.
• Serves as liaison with other service providers for patient care.
• Maintains patient charts with documentation of interventions.
• Helps patients with acute psychiatric symptoms and medication compliance.
• Provides counseling to patients experiencing behavioral health problems.
