Day Kimball Health in Putnam, CT is seeking a part-time Medical Health Worker (32 hours) for the BHS Department, 3rd shift. The role supports the RN in delivering direct patient care and maintaining a safe therapeutic milieu.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalency (B.A. preferred), CPR certification, Crisis Intervention training, and hospital or mental health experience is desirable. This position emphasizes teamwork and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency; B.A. preferred.
• CPR certification required.
• Crisis Intervention training required.
• One year of mental health or related experience preferred.
• Computer experience preferred.
• Previous hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in meeting patients' physical needs and activities of daily living.
• Collect clinical data for RNs to assess patients.
• Assist in unit admission, transfer, and discharge procedures.
• Observe patients and milieu; report changes to RN.
• Conduct safety rounds and document patient whereabouts.
• Respond to events with appropriate verbal/behavioral interventions, including restraints as directed.
• Facilitate patient group activities and interactions.
• Document interventions and patient responses accurately in charts.
• Transcribe physicians' orders and manage medication documentation.
• File diagnostic and lab reports in patient charts.
