Day Kimball Health is hiring a Mental Health Worker for the BHS Department as a per diem 3rd shift position in Putnam, CT. The role involves supporting RNs in direct patient care and maintaining a safe therapeutic milieu, with adherence to established procedures within a hospital setting.

The MHW will perform clerical tasks, document interventions, and participate in patient milieu activities, serving as a vital member of the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency; B.A. preferred.
• CPR certification required.
• Crisis Intervention training required.
• One year of mental health or related field experience preferred.
• Computer experience preferred; hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in meeting the physical needs of patients and activities of daily living.
• Collect clinical data for RN assessment of patient status.
• Assist in unit admission, transfer and discharge procedures.
• Observe patients and report changes in mental status or behavior to RN.
• Conduct safety rounds and document patient whereabouts.
