Job summary

Day Kimball Health in Putnam, CT seeks a Medical Health Worker for the BHS department on a per diem 1st shift basis. You will support direct patient care under the RN, help maintain a safe therapeutic milieu, and assist with admissions, charting, and patient monitoring.

Perdiem roles offer flexible scheduling and opportunities for growth. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, CPR certification, and Crisis Intervention training; prior mental health or hospital experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; BA preferred.
• CPR certification required and crisis intervention training completed.
• One year of mental health or related field experience preferred.
• Computer skills and hospital setting familiarity are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN in direct patient care activities and maintain safe therapeutic environment.
• Attend to activities of daily living and patient needs.
• Collect clinical data for RN assessments and document on forms.
• Support admission, transfer and discharge processes and monitor patient status.
• Document interventions, chart patient responses, and transcribe orders accurately.

Education

High school diploma or equivalency diploma

One year of Mental Health experience
