Job summary

UW Health in Madison, WI, is seeking a Social Worker for the Emergency Department. This full-time, 1.0 FTE position offers evening shifts (3:00 pm–11:30 pm) Monday–Friday at East Madison Hospital.

You will provide psychosocial assessment, intervention, and support to ED patients and families, collaborating with the ED team to address barriers to discharge and connect patients with community resources. Opportunity for clinical supervision and advancement exists.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work required.
• 2 years hospital-based social work experience preferred.
• Wisconsin licensing within 90 days: CAPSW/CISW or LCSW required.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychosocial assessment, intervention and support to Emergency Department patients and their social supports.
• Intervene in Trauma activations and acute grief support; assist with psychiatric dispositions and discharge needs.
• Collaborate with ED team to develop patient goals, monitor progress, and address barriers to discharge.
