Endeavor Health in Glenview, IL seeks a Patient Safety Observer for the Emergency Department evening shift. You will monitor patients, redirect at-risk behavior, and alert nursing staff to needs or emergencies.

Requires a high school diploma, Care Companion class within two weeks, CPR/BLS certification, and strong communication, arithmetic, and multitasking skills. Per-diem schedule and 3pm–3:30am hours.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED required.
• Certification: Care Companion class within two weeks of start date.
• CPR/BLS certification from American Heart Association.
• Ability to read, communicate effectively, and perform basic arithmetic.

Responsibilities

• Continuously observe and monitor assigned patients at bedside or via video.
• Maintain constant visual observation to ensure patient safety.
• Redirect patients from risky behavior using in-person or audio devices.
• Notify nursing staff immediately of needs or emergencies.
• Participate in shift handoffs and communicate patient status.
• Support a safe environment by reporting hazards.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure safety and privacy.
