Job summary

Allina Health seeks an Emergency Department Medical Technician in Plymouth, MN. This role delivers rapid patient care, phlebotomy, EKG monitoring, wound management and equipment education under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include assisting with procedures, patient transport and safety, plus participation in quality improvement and administrative duties. A strong EMT/CNA background with BLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience to meet required competencies.
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent for positions utilizing i-STAT testing.
• 1+ year experience in acute health care setting preferred.
• 1+ experience in basic arrhythmia and EKG interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs patient care within scope of position.
• Phlebotomy, EKG, wound care, splinting, specimen collection and education of durable medical equipment.
• Assists RN with wound dressings, oxygen, procedures, irrigations and patient transport.
• Contributes to a safe environment and participates in quality improvement activities.
• May process physician orders, stock supplies and serve as a preceptor.
