Job summary

Allina Health in Minnesota is seeking an entry-level phlebotomy assistant to gain hands-on experience in inpatient blood collection and 12-lead EKG support. You’ll work across hospital teams, learning clinical workflows and patient care in a diverse, hospital setting.

Under supervision, you will perform phlebotomy on patients of all ages, assist with EKG acquisitions, maintain accurate data entry, and follow infection control policies.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience to meet required competencies.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Phlebotomy Certification preferred upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Blood collection for laboratory analysis.
• Acquisition of 12-lead EKGs for in-patients and select out-patients.
• Ensure patient identification accuracy before collection.
• Document collection and communicate with care team for hand-off.
• Adhere to infection control policies and PPE usage.
• Assist with departmental operations and improve workflow.
