Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide living, social, behavioral, career, and personal support to adults with IDD in the community. The role is part-time, on-site at Gallagher Services in Parkville, MD, with a schedule Monday to Friday 3 PM - 8 PM.

The pay range is $20 - $23.50 per hour, depending on experience and certifications. As a DSP, you’ll build trusted relationships, celebrate small wins, and help individuals live meaningful, independent

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver's license with at least 2 years of driving experience and no more than 3 points.
• Comfortable driving agency vehicles and assisting people who use wheelchairs.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds, stand for long periods, and provide physical assistance when needed.
• Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete).

Responsibilities

• Offer encouraging verbal prompts and reminders to help task initiation and independence.
• Support individuals in building money management skills and independent purchasing decisions.
• Be patient and respectful in action and speech.
• Advocate for each person’s rights and boost confidence and self-esteem.
• Keep clear, respectful records to ensure continuity of care and support.
