Job summary

Friendship Community Care in Bryant, AR is seeking a Direct Support Professional to work on an interdisciplinary team in home and community settings. The role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, transportation, documentation, and engaging in recreational activities to promote well‑being.

You will follow medication management guidelines, maintain records, and support each client’s plan of care.

Qualifications

• Education requirement: High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Must have a valid Arkansas driver’s license.
• Experience working with developmentally disabled individuals preferred (2+ years).

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with basic living skills and daily personal tasks such as showers, dressing, housekeeping, grocery shopping, meals, and budgeting.
• Provide transportation to activities and appointments; valid Arkansas driver’s license required.
• Maintain communication through logbooks, meetings, and other channels regarding clients’ needs and progress.
• Complete FCC-required documentation (behavioral reports, incident reports, forms, care sheets, requisitions, maintenance forms, progress notes, attendance logs).
• Follow and document records for FCC vehicles; ensure mileage and billing forms comply with Medicaid guidelines.
• Report incidents or emergencies to supervisors promptly.
• Assist in formulating, managing, revising, and following each client’s plan of care.
• Follow medication-management guidelines and monitor documentation.
• Organize and lead recreational activities for clients.
• Adhere to FCC dress code and be a positive role model.
• Respect clients and families; represent FCC’s mission.
