Job summary

Southeastern Directions for Life is seeking Direct Support Professionals to work in group homes with individuals who have developmental disabilities. Both full-time and part-time positions are available, with evening shifts and weekend requirements as needed.

DSPs help individuals lead self-directed lives, support daily living activities, advocate for goals, and teach social and communication skills. A HS diploma, valid driver’s license, and background checks are required; training is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have a current driver’s license and car insurance.
• Must pass a comprehensive background check including fingerprinting and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals to lead self-directed lives and participate in the community.
• Support activities of daily living and teach self-care, social, and communication skills.
• Provide medication administration support, health maintenance, and personal care as needed.
• Promote safety and advocacy for the individuals served, including documentation and reporting.
