Job summary

Lowe in Georgia is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide routine direct care and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental health needs. The role includes personal care, home maintenance, and community integration within a residential setting.

The DSP will assist with daily living activities, monitor health and safety, document progress, and participate in care plans. A CNA license, CPR/First Aid, CPI certification, and routine trainings are required; weekend

Qualifications

Minimum high school diploma or GED.
Must have 2+ years of experience working with individuals who have a dual diagnosis (Mental Illness and Developmental Disability).
Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) license required to perform personal care tasks.
Current CPR/First Aid/AED certifications.
Must pass criminal background checks and provide TB screening.
CPI certification required.

Responsibilities

Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Provide support with medication administration and health monitoring.
Assist in nutrition, meal preparation, and feeding when necessary.
Help individuals develop daily living skills and promote independence according to their Service Plan (ISP/POC).
Provide positive behavioral support and communication assistance.
Transport individuals to and from community services and activities.
Complete required training within the first 60 days and annual training thereafter.
