Job summary

Lowe is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental health needs in a home setting in Georgia. The role includes assisting with daily living activities, personal care, and community participation, with emphasis on promoting independence.

Responsibilities cover health monitoring, documentation, and collaboration with care plans, while ensuring safety and quality of care.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of experience with individuals who have a dual diagnosis (Mental Illness and Developmental Disability).
• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) license required to perform personal care tasks.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certifications required.
• Must pass criminal background checks and provide TB screening on employment and annually thereafter.
• CPI certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Provide support with medication administration and health monitoring.
• Assist in nutrition, meal preparation, and feeding when necessary.
• Help individuals develop daily living skills and promote independence according to their Service Plan (ISP/POC).
• Provide positive behavioral support and communication assistance.
• Participate in activities within the home and community as outlined in individual care plans.
