Job summary

Cedarhurst Senior Living is seeking a Dining Server to provide courteous, efficient table service for residents and guests during evening meals, helping maintain cleanliness, safety, and welcoming dining areas in our community.

You will support events, assist with food prep and cost-control, communicate menu details to residents and families, and collaborate with team members to uphold Cedarhurst’s high standards of service and resident wellbeing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Up to two years of prior experience preferred, senior living experience strongly desired.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Proficiency with common digital tools including MS Office and web-based platforms.

Responsibilities

• Assist with catering, room service, special events, and marketing functions.
• Promptly take food and beverage orders and deliver courteous service.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work area following safety standards.
• Clear, sanitize, and reset tables; complete daily checklists.
• Assist with cleaning dining areas after meals and events.
• Adapt service to meet individual resident dining preferences and needs.
• Support cost-control by minimizing waste and using supplies responsibly.
• Follow recipes and ingredient labels to ensure consistency.
• Safely operate and clean kitchen equipment and utensils.
• Communicate menu details to residents and guests clearly.
• Prepare and maintain table settings to Cedarhurst standards.
• Follow FDA/state/local food safety regulations and infection control guidelines.
• Use basic math for dining-related tasks.
• Communicate with residents, families, and staff to support wellbeing.
• Collaborate with team members and follow management direction.
• Other duties as assigned.
