Job summary

RRD, located in Wisconsin, seeks a 2nd shift Press Technician to prep jobs for printing on a Digital Press, set up and release from the print queue, and monitor output quality. You will use bindery equipment and package jobs for shipping, ensuring files are complete before plate making.

Work closely with Customer Service and production to resolve issues, and you may prepare color proofs for customer review as needed.

Qualifications

• Good understanding of digital file formats (pdf, tiff, eps) from Mac and PC is required.
• Basic color management and ability to work with different digital formats; output to various devices and continuous learning of graphics software.

Responsibilities

• Review job instructions to prepare jobs for printing on a Digital Press.
• Set up, program, and release jobs from the print queue.
• Monitor the quality of job output for correctness and image quality.
• Utilize bindery equipment (cutter, folder, creaser, shrink tunnel).
• Package jobs and prepare for shipping.
• Review client files for completeness before plate making.
• Identify missing or problematic components and communicate them to Customer Service and production.
• Work with Customer Service Reps and production staff to resolve issues.
• Prepare color proofs for customer review if needed.
