Job summary

RR Donnelley is seeking a 2nd shift Digital Printer/Prepress technician to prepare and print jobs, set up and release tasks from the print queue, and monitor output quality on a Digital Press.

You will work with bindery equipment, review client files for completeness, and coordinate with Customer Service and production teams to resolve any issues. Strong knowledge of PDF/TIFF/EPS, color management, and basic mechanical skills are required.

Qualifications

• Requires good understanding of digital file formats (pdf, tiff, eps) across Mac/PC.
• Basic color management skills and ability to work with different digital formats.
• Must have mechanical skills to operate small hand tools and perform minor repairs.

Responsibilities

• Review job instructions to prepare jobs for printing on a Digital Press.
• Set up, program, and release jobs from the print queue.
• Monitor the quality of job output for correctness and image quality.
• Utilize bindery equipment to complete jobs (cutter, tabletop folder, creaser, shrink tunnel).
• Package jobs and prepare for shipping.
• Review electronic files from clients for thoroughness before plate making.
• Identify missing or problematic components and communicate with stakeholders.
• Work with Customer Service Reps and production personnel to resolve issues.
• May prepare color proofs for customer review.
