Job summary

Rocky Mountain Care – Cottage on Vine in Murray, UT seeks a Dietary Cook to prepare meals according to planned menus and recipes. You will support the food service team, follow safety standards, and collaborate with a dietitian to meet residents’ nutritional needs.

Responsibilities include menu review, meal preparation, portion control, and maintaining sanitation. A Food Handlers Permit and HS diploma are required; supervisory experience is a plus in this nursing facility setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Current/Active Food Handlers Permit.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• One (1) year dietary/food service experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred (but not necessary).
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
• Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Compliance with safety and hygiene measures.

Responsibilities

• Reviews menus prior to food preparation and prepares the meals.
• Works with the Dietitian/Director of Food Services as necessary and implements recommended changes as required.
• Performs other duties, as assigned.
• Assists in establishing food service production line to assure meals are prepared on time.
• Prepares meals in accordance with planned menus and standardized recipes.
