Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Diagnostic Imaging Assistant to support technologists and ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. The role is 1.0 FTE with an 8-hour evening shift, including occasional weekends and on-call duties.

Duties include patient transport, exam scheduling, and data handling within the EMR. Qualifications include being 18+, preferred HS diploma/GED, prior patient care experience, medical terminology knowledge, and BLS certification (AHA/Red

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description.
• Preferred: High school diploma or GED
• Preferred: Previous patient care experience
• Preferred: Medical terminology knowledge
• Licenses: BLS certification (AHA, Red Cross, or in-house) within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists technologist with transport and care of patients.
• Enters orders and schedules exams as needed.
• Communicates physician requests to appropriate department staff.
• Coordinates workflow with clinics, service departments and physicians.
• Prioritizes customer needs and provides information on special instructions, exam preps, arrival times.
• Delivers imaging supplies and positions patients for procedures.
• Distributes completed exam to radiologist and ensures secure access to EMR.
• Restocks and prepares exam rooms; performs other duties as assigned.
