Job summary

Allina Health is seeking a Part-time Patient Care Technician at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis to provide essential basic patient care under RN supervision. Responsibilities include vital signs, ADL assistance, documentation, and clerical duties within the unit.

The role involves 8-hour day/evening shifts, occasional weekends, and a 0.6 FTE (48 hours per two-week pay period). You’ll work in the Main Operating Room Preop/Postop department.

Qualifications

• Under direct supervision of a RN/Physician, provides basic direct/indirect patient care.
• Observes, collects and documents health data per policy.
• Completes measurements: temp, pulse, BP, resp, weight, intake/output.
• Reports data outside normal limits to RN immediately.
• Assists with activities of daily living under RN direction.
• Documents according to guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients and families with way finding on unit/facility.
• Assist with patient transfer, movement and/or rooming as needed.
• Complete interventions per critical elements of procedures.
• Respond promptly to patient call lights for assigned and other patients.
• Assist with grooming, hygiene and skin integrity.
• Handle admission/discharge/transfer functions per workflow.
• Distribute water, snacks and trays to patients.
