Job summary

The Massachusetts Trial Court is seeking a Custodian in Dorchester to maintain clean, orderly court facilities. Duties include cleaning offices, bathrooms, removing refuse, lawn care, snow removal, and assisting with maintenance under supervision.

Starting pay is $40,575.34 per year, with a scheduled 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM shift, and $1.00 shift differential for qualifying hours; union position with potential within the salary band per the collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

• No degree required.
• Three years of related work experience.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work in varied conditions.

Responsibilities

• Dusts and wet mops floors and stairways; operates vacuum for carpeted areas.
• Strips wax, applies fresh wax and uses power buffer to polish floors.
• Cleans windows, walls, doors; replaces light bulbs.
• Cleans and sanitizes restrooms; replenishes supplies.
• Mows lawns, shovels snow; provides coverage for fellow custodians.
