Job summary

Massachusetts Trial Court seeks a Maintenance Technician-John Adams to perform routine facility maintenance and skilled trades tasks across court facilities. The role involves daily inspections, minor repairs, and coordinating with subcontractors while supporting essential operations.

This union position falls under the OPEIU Local 6 agreement, with scheduled hours Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:00pm, and potential after-hours work during emergencies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years of related work experience.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
• Applicable trades certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in a variety of skilled trades duties.
• Provide cleaning assistance to courthouses and grounds as needed.
• Assist in repair, installation and testing of various systems and equipment.
• Provide systems and building checks.
• Check grounds, elevators, fire extinguishers and bathrooms for needed repairs.
• Perform minor repairs.
• Provide preventative maintenance to equipment, machinery and tools.
• Perform painting, patching and general building repairs.
• Escort and work with sub contractors.
• Assumes responsibility for assigned keys in building
• Fills in for Senior Maintenance Technician I as needed.
• Performs other duties as required.
