Job summary

ReNEW Schools is hiring for a Custodian - 2nd Shift. The role requires two years of custodial experience, strong reading and writing skills, and teamwork. Duties include cleaning routes, basic maintenance, and event setup across school facilities.

The position is 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.) with a full-time schedule and comprehensive benefits. Applicants should be able to lift up to 100 pounds and maintain safety standards.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience or equivalent in custodial services.
• Knowledge and experience in custodial services.
• Exceptional oral communication skills (listening, questioning, clarifying and responsiveness).
• Clear and informative writing; ability to read and interpret written information.
• Ability to work in a team and build positive, professional relationships.
• General knowledge of computers including email, word processing and work order software.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a custodian and follow assigned cleaning route.
• Maintain and ensure safety of buildings, sidewalks, driveways, parking lots and grounds; remove snow as needed.
• Perform minor painting, plumbing and related maintenance tasks; replace light bulbs.
• Follow safety regulations for equipment and chemical handling.
• Know fire and security alarm systems; act on alarms.
• Handle body fluid spills using proper procedures.
• Empty trash and dispose according to local laws.
• Set up tables/chairs for events and move furniture as directed.
• Conduct general cleaning and upkeep: buffing, dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing windows.
• Contact staff if an alarm is activated.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
