Job summary

Rahway Public Schools is seeking a full-time custodian to perform general cleaning and maintenance in school buildings and grounds under supervision. The role includes keeping facilities clean, safe, and well-maintained to support daily school operations.

The position requires a Boiler certificate Black Seal, low pressure, a valid New Jersey driver’s license, and the physical ability to lift heavy objects and work outdoors; it is a 12-month term with a comprehensive benefits package.

Position Function

Under the direct supervision of the Principal, Director of Facilities, and Business Manager, performs general cleaning and maintenance in school buildings and grounds; maintains equipment in functional condition; and provides cleaning and custodial assistance to students, teachers, visitors and others as necessary.

Performs related duties and general maintenance work as required.
