HES Facilities Management Group seeks a 2nd Shift Custodial Supervisor to oversee evening custodial operations at UMSL. This role supervises staff, enforces cleaning standards, and ensures safety compliance while serving as the primary contact for nightly facility operations.

The ideal candidate demonstrates leadership, organizes tasks efficiently, and maintains a clean and safe learning environment for students and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years custodial experience.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of custodial equipment, cleaning methods, floor care, and safety procedures.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct second-shift custodial staff.
• Train new employees on cleaning procedures, equipment operation, and company policies.
• Monitor attendance, punctuality, and performance.
• Conduct routine inspections and provide coaching.
• Assist with evaluations, disciplinary actions, and scheduling.
• Coordinate staffing for employee absences.
• Ensure areas are cleaned and maintained per standards.
• Inspect facilities nightly and verify task completion.
• Coordinate special cleaning projects and deep-cleaning activities.
• Respond promptly to custodial and facility-related concerns.
• Maintain regular communication with administrators and management.
