Job summary

The Obama Foundation is seeking an experienced Assistant Custodial Operations Supervisor for the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago. The role oversees custodial teams, schedules, staffing, and budget to ensure high-quality interior spaces consistent with APPA, LEED, and WELL standards.

You will collaborate with leadership to streamline workflows, manage floor care programs, and coordinate with vendors. This is a 3rd shift, in-person role in Jackson Park, Chicago.

Qualifications

• Experience managing custodial teams in cultural or entertainment settings.
• Experience with commercial floor care equipment (auto-scrubbers, buffing, refinishing) preferred.
• Ability to resolve issues with minimal supervision and maintain high standards.
• Familiarity with Tennant and Kaivac floor care machines preferred.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including early mornings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Supervise custodial staff ensuring APPA, LEED and WELL compliance, with floor care oversight.
• Monitor contracted providers to meet schedules and goals during events.
• Develop procedures for efficient, sustainable operations and inventory management.
• Use CMMS to inspect and analyze data and adjust operations.
• Oversee maintenance of interior facilities and floor care activities across campus.
