Job summary

The Obama Foundation is seeking an Assistant Custodial Operations Supervisor for the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago. You will lead custodial staff, ensure high standards, and coordinate scheduling, budgeting, and vendor oversight to support a world-class campus.

Reporting to the Custodial Operations Supervisor, you will drive floor care programs, oversee staff training, and leverage CMMS to improve efficiency and compliance with APPA, WELL, and LEED standards.

Qualifications

• Experience leading day-to-day custodial operations, ideally in a cultural or entertainment venue.
• Familiarity with commercial floor care equipment (auto-scrubbers, buffing, refinishing).
• Strong judgment and problem-solving with minimal supervision.
• Experience with inventory and equipment management.
• Proven ability to manage flexible scheduling across a campus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise custodial staff and ensure APPA, LEED, and WELL standards are met.
• Oversee floor care programs, including daily and restorative maintenance.
• Monitor vendors and service providers to maintain on-schedule performance.
• Develop procedures for efficient, sustainable operations and inventory control.
• Use CMMS to track services and equipment across the campus.
