Job summary

Obama Foundation is seeking a Security Supervisor for the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago. The role supervises security staff, leads shift operations, and maintains safe, welcoming spaces across the center’s facilities.

You will oversee security tech, conduct trainings, perform risk assessments, and coordinate with local authorities to respond to incidents. This in-person, full-time position requires flexibility and strong leadership.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
2+ years security experience; 1 year in a supervisory/lead role preferred.
Valid security guard license or certifications as required by state law.
Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
Ability to stand and walk on foot for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day security operations across the Obama Presidential Center, including all spaces.
Lead and train security personnel; create and manage shift schedules.
Direct the security operations center and oversee security technology and incident reporting.
Greet and screen visitors; provide Center information and directions.
Maintain a visible, welcoming yet secure environment; enforce safety procedures.
Coordinate with local law enforcement, fire departments, and other agencies as needed.
