Job summary

Everett Public Schools is seeking two qualified Culinary Arts Instructors to provide evening instruction for an adult-training cohort. Instructors will deliver hands-on, industry-aligned culinary instruction in a commercial kitchen and prepare participants for employment and applicable industry-recognized credentials.

February 2027-May 2027. This grant-funded role compensates at $40.00 per hour for up to 262 hours, with a maximum total of $10,480 per instructor, contingent on enrollment,

Qualifications

• Culinary arts teaching in a kitchen setting, adult learners preferred.
• Active ServSafe knowledge and sanitation practices.
• Experience with DESE Chapter 74 Culinary Arts frameworks and credentials.
• Ability to design hands-on lessons and assessments for adults.
• Strong organizational and communication skills for records and reports.
• Willingness to work evenings per cohort schedule.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging hands-on culinary instruction aligned with MA Chapter 74.
• Instruct in commercial kitchen operations, food prep, sanitation, and safety.
• Assist participants to earn ServSafe credentials and other certificates.
• Develop lesson plans, materials, assessments, and participant records.
• Differentiate instruction for diverse adult learners and languages.
• Monitor progress and provide timely feedback; maintain a clean kitchen.
• Collaborate with staff, partners, and administrators for program delivery.
• Support inventory, supplies, and equipment maintenance; attend planning meetings.
