Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor for the Core Lab on the Evening Shift. You will organize and direct daily lab activities, manage inventory, and ensure accurate test results.

Lead a team, uphold quality control and QA, participate in ongoing education, and have authority over personnel decisions. This full-time on-site role requires a BS and NYS license, with preferred ASCP certification and a master's degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree is required.
• NYS CLT license by the NYS Dept. of Education is required.
• Minimum 4 years of clinical laboratory experience or 2 years with a Master’s degree or 1 year with an MD/DO/PhD in a chemical, physical, or biological science.
• ASCP certification is preferred.
• Evening shift availability is required.

Responsibilities

• Organize and direct daily activities of the laboratory section assigned.
• Maintain adequate inventory and supplies.
• Ensure validity of test results and oversee quality control/QA.
• Participate in continuing education program.
• Have authority to recommend, select, discipline, and discharge personnel.
