Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor for the Core Lab on the Evening Shift. You will organize and direct daily lab activities, manage inventory, and ensure accurate test results.

Lead a team, uphold quality control and QA, participate in ongoing education, and have authority over personnel decisions. This full-time on-site role requires a BS and NYS license, with preferred ASCP certification and a master's degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree is required.
• NYS CLT license by the NYS Dept. of Education is required.
• Minimum 4 years of clinical laboratory experience or 2 years with a Master’s degree or 1 year with an MD/DO/PhD in a chemical, physical, or biological science.
• ASCP certification is preferred.
• Evening shift availability is required.

In this role, the Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for organizing and directing the daily activities of the laboratory section assigned. Maintain adequate inventory and supplies. Responsible for validity of test results, quality control and quality assurance. Participates in continuing education program. Has the authority to recommend, select, discipline, and discharge personnel. This is a full-time evening shift position 2:00pm-10:00pm including rotating weekends/holidays, located at NYP/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.

Preferred Criteria:

• ASCP certification.
• Master's Degree 2 years of additional experience

• Bachelor of Science Degree
• NYS Clinical Lab Technologist license by Dept. of Education.
• Minimum of 4 years of clinical laboratory experience or 2 years of clinical laboratory experience with master’s degree or 1 years of experience with a MD, DO or doctoral degree in a chemical, physical or biological science
