Job summary

American Senior Communities in Columbus, IN is seeking a Cook for full-time evening shifts. You will join our culinary team to prepare nutritious meals while maintaining high sanitation and safety standards for our residents.

Responsibilities include following recipes, leading kitchen staff, and ensuring a clean work area. Preference given to candidates with healthcare or institutional food service experience and certifications in sanitation where applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, or 1–3 years related experience.
• Preferred: Sanitation/Safe Food Handling certification.
• Preferred: Prior institutional and/or healthcare food service experience.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes and prepares food that meets residents’ nutritional needs.
• Cooks or prepares meals in quantities needed with attention to quality and presentation.
• Leads kitchen staff with food preparation, assembling trays, cleaning, and storage of supplies and equipment.
• Maintains a clean food service work area during service and preparation.
• Handles, stores, and disposes of food supplies per procedures and regulations.
