Job summary

American Senior Communities in Clinton, IN is seeking a Cook to join our culinary team, with day and evening shifts. You will follow recipes, prepare meals that meet residents' nutritional needs, and support sanitation and food safety standards for our residents.

This role also helps assemble trays, supports kitchen staff, and keeps work areas clean while handling food properly. Prior kitchen or healthcare experience is valued; sanitation certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 1–3 years related experience and/or training.
• Preferred: Sanitation/Safe Food Handling certification.
• Preferred: Institutional or healthcare service experience.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes and prepares food meeting residents’ nutritional needs.
• Cooks meals in required quantities and ensures palatability and nutrition.
• Leads kitchen staff with food preparation, assembling trays, cleaning, and storage.
• Maintains a clean food service work area during service and prep.
• Handles, stores, and disposes of food in compliance with procedures and regs.
