Job summary

St. Paul’s Assisted Living in Indiana is seeking an experienced Cook to join our culinary team, preparing nutritious meals for residents and ensuring meals meet dietary guidelines.

The ideal candidate has Serve Safe certification and proven kitchen experience in healthcare, with the ability to work evenings and collaborate with the Dietary Manager to create appealing menus. Qualifications

• Serve Safe Certification required and experience in a residential or healthcare setting preferred.
• Knowledge of cooking techniques, nutrition, and food safety standards.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff and residents.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals following menus, dietary guidelines, and residents' preferences.
• Ensure food is served at safe temperatures and in compliance with Serve Safe standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and adhere to health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with Dietary Manager to plan nutritionally appropriate menus.
• Monitor inventory, assist with ordering, and manage waste to reduce costs.
• Train and guide kitchen staff to uphold high-quality standards.
• Engage with residents and staff to foster a welcoming dining atmosphere.
• Address special dietary needs or allergies with care and precision.
