Job summary

Massanutten Military Academy in Woodstock, Virginia is seeking an Evening Cook to join our Food Service Department. The cook will prepare and cook meals according to established menus, maintain high standards for sanitation, and operate commercial kitchen equipment for our dining hall on the historic campus.

Qualifications

• Previous commercial, institutional, restaurant, or similar cooking experience preferred.
• ServSafe or food-handler certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, produce, and cook meals according to established menus and recipes.
• Safely operate grills, fryers, steamers, convection ovens, and other commercial kitchen equipment.
• Clean and properly maintain cooking equipment and work areas.
• Follow established recipes, portion standards, and food preparation procedures.
• Follow all health, sanitation, safety, and food-handling requirements.
• Assist with receiving, unpacking, rotating, labeling, and properly storing food and supply deliveries.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen and workstation.
• Assist with other Food Service duties as needed.
