Job summary

Massanutten Military Academy is hiring an Evening Cook to join our Food Service Department on the historic campus in Woodstock, Virginia. You will prepare, cook, and portion meals, while ensuring sanitation and safety standards are met in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

The role is full-time evening work, with every other weekend required. Previous institutional cooking experience and ability to operate commercial equipment are preferred, and ServSafe certification is a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare, produce, and cook meals per menus and recipes.
• Safely operate grills, fryers, steamers, convection ovens, and equipment.
• Clean and maintain cooking equipment and work areas.
• Follow recipes, portion standards, and food procedures.
• Follow health, sanitation, safety, and food-handling rules.
• Assist with receiving, unpacking, rotating, labeling, storing food and supplies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen and workstation.
• Assist with other Food Service duties as needed.

Massanutten Military Academy is seeking dependable, hardworking, team-oriented individuals to join our Food Service Department. We are currently hiring for full-time and part-time positions supporting our dining hall and campus community.

We offer a team-focused work environment serving students, faculty, and staff on our historic boarding-school campus.

Evening Cook – Full Time

The Evening Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking meals while maintaining high standards for food quality, sanitation, and kitchen safety.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare, produce, and cook meals according to established menus and recipes.
• Safely operate grills, fryers, steamers, convection ovens, and other commercial kitchen equipment.
• Clean and properly maintain cooking equipment and work areas.
• Follow established recipes, portion standards, and food preparation procedures.
• Follow all health, sanitation, safety, and food-handling requirements.
• Assist with receiving, unpacking, rotating, labeling, and properly storing food and supply deliveries.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen and workstation.
• Assist with other Food Service duties as needed.

Schedule: Full-time evening position. Every other weekend is required.
