Job summary

Lifespace Communities is hiring a Cook in Austin, TX to prepare a wide range of baked goods and plates for residents and guests. You will follow recipes, synchronize production with meal service, and ensure food safety and sanitation in daily operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experience as a prep cook or similar position.
• State certification in Safe Food Handling and Sanitation, if state certification program exists.

Responsibilities

• Manage production and prepare a wide variety of standard and custom baked goods according to recipes.
• Mix, bake, build, decorate, and inscribe products in an efficient manner.
• Prepare all food items per menu requirements following designated recipes.
• Prepare plates and garnish food items to be served to residents and guests.
• Coordinate food production with meal service hours so that quality, temperature, and appearance of food are preserved.
• Ensure food safety by monitoring food temperatures and using proper food storage techniques in accordance with state and local standards.
• Maintain work area in a safe and sanitary condition, may include cleaning cooking equipment and other areas of the kitchen as assigned.
