Job summary

Querencia at Barton Creek is hiring a Cook for the evening shift in Austin, TX. The team focuses on preparing a variety of baked goods and plated dishes for residents and guests, following established recipes and menu requirements.

Applicants should have at least a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of prep cook experience. State Safe Food Handling certification is preferred where applicable. This role offers a $17.81–$24.47+ per hour pay range with starting pay around $20 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of experience as a prep cook or similar position.
• State certification in Safe Food Handling and Sanitation if the state certification program exists.

Responsibilities

• Manage production and prepare a wide variety of standard and custom baked goods according to recipes.
• Mix, bake, build, decorate, and inscribe products in an efficient manner.
• Prepare all food items per menu requirements following designated recipes.
• Prepare plates and garnish food items to be served to residents and guests.
• Prepare food production to coordinate with meal service hours so that quality, temperature, and appearance of food are preserved.
• Ensure food safety by monitoring food temperatures and using proper food storage techniques in accordance with state and local standards.
• Maintain work area in a safe and sanitary condition, which may include cleaning cooking equipment and other areas of the kitchen as assigned.
