Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Machine Operator I to set up and run heavy machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in Rock Island, IL. You will perform cutting, punching, forming and finishing operations while adhering to safety and quality standards.

The role requires reading blueprints, operating CNC-controlled equipment and maintaining equipment with routine preventive maintenance. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a manufacturing/production environment.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Cover and band stacks of wall panels.
• Ability to work independently and with others.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate heavy machinery and related gauges to perform cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing operations.
• Follow safety rules and precautions in a manufacturing environment.
• Operate CNC-controlled machines, such as presses, lasers, and rolling mills.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment.
• Read blueprints, specifications, and other technical data to select materials.
• Inspect parts for defects and ensure quality standards.
