Job summary

AlbanyEngineered Composites (AEC) is seeking a machinist for an evening shift to support precision manufacturing of aerospace components. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least two years using scales, calipers, and micrometers to verify tolerances.

The ideal candidate will read blueprints, set up fixtures, load tools, and run CNC machines with Fanuc/Siemens controllers, using SurfCam for tool paths. DoD contractor, US persons only; strong safety and quality focus required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; proficient with computers and related software.
• 2 years experience using and reading scales, calipers, micrometers, etc.
• Ability to read and understand product drawings and technical instructions.

Responsibilities

• Set up fixtures on machines and dial in tooling, read work orders, and verify with gauges.
• Edit programs and regulate speeds/feeds/coolant; run production on machining centers.
• Troubleshoot machining operations and coordinate with Machine Shop Lead to fix errors.
• Use Fanuc and Siemens controllers; run drills, lathes, grinders, and other tools.
• Maintain a clean work area; ensure regular and reliable attendance.
