Job summary

Sanford Health in Stillwater, MN, is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide resident-centered care during evening shifts. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, and support mobility under RN supervision in a 68-bed long-term and transitional care setting.

The role requires CNA certification with the state board or enrollment in a training program; prior long-term care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED is preferred but not required.
• Minimum age of 16 to qualify for the role.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care is preferred.
• Required CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing; or state-certified CNA within four months of starting.
• Complete yearly competency testing and maintain continuing education credits (min 12 hours annually).
• Maintain all department‑specific required certifications and state registrations as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care under RN supervision.
• Assist with basic health care tasks: bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and vital signs.
• Support transfers, repositioning, and mobility with proper techniques.
• Prepare food and assist with dining to ensure a positive dining experience.
• Assist residents with meals and hydration; monitor fluid intake.
• Support providers and nursing staff with procedures as needed.
• Document care, outcomes, behavior, activity, and dietary information.
• Communicate changes in condition to the charge nurse.
• Collect non-invasive specimens and record vital signs.
• Maintain housekeeping and laundry in resident areas.
• Support wellness and recreational programs and participate in committees as needed.
