Job summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) at Good Samaritan Society provides resident-centered care in a long-term care setting under the supervision of an RN. You will assist with daily living activities, document care interactions, and support residents with meals and mobility while following infection control policies.

You must have CNA certification and meet state requirements, with preferred prior long-term care experience.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
• A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually.
• For applicable states, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry.
• Dependent on facility and required responsibilities, may classify as a Sanford Category II Driver requiring a motor vehicle report.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision.
• Assist with basic health care needs, including vital signs, bathing, toileting, grooming, and mobility.
• Support meal preparation and dining to create a positive dining experience.
• Document resident interactions and communicate changes to the charge nurse.
• Assist with housekeeping, laundry, wellness and recreational activities.
• Participate in committees or tasks as needed.
