Job summary

The Good Samaritan Society is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) to care for residents in a long-term care setting. You will provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of an RN, including vital signs, hygiene, mobility, and nutrition support.

You will participate in infection control, document resident interactions, and support wellness and recreational activities while adhering to care plans and policy requirements.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or in the process of obtaining certification.
• Maintain yearly competency testing with continuing education credits (minimum 12 hours per year).
• In applicable states, may be registered with Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry.
• May classify as Sanford Category II Driver with valid driver's license per policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision.
• Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and similar activities; document vital signs.
• Support transfers, positioning, and range-of-motion exercises; assist with meals and dining.
• Communicate changes in resident condition to charge nurse; assist and document wellness activities.
