Job summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) at Good Samaritan Society provides resident-centered care in long-term care settings under RN supervision. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor residents, and follow infection control policies.

Required CNA certification; high school diploma or GED preferred. The role supports a compassionate, team-based care environment with ongoing education opportunities and supportive scheduling.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• CNA certification required and provided by facility.
• Maintains annual continuing education credits; 12 hours minimum.
• When applicable, may be registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry.
• Some states may classify this role as a Sanford Category II Driver with a motor vehicle record.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic health care needs including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, documenting vital signs and providing psychosocial support.
• Assist residents with transfers, repositioning, and mobility using proper techniques and equipment.
• Assist with meals, hydration, and dining to ensure a positive dining experience.
• Support nursing staff and providers during procedures as needed.
• Document resident interactions and changes in condition for nursing staff.
