Job summary

State of Washington Dept. of Veterans Affairs in Walla Walla is seeking a part-time Nursing Assistant Certified for the evening swing shift (2:00 PM to 10:30 PM), Friday through Sunday, at the Walla Walla Veterans Home to deliver skilled nursing care to Veterans.

You will participate in care plans, document vitals, assist with activities of daily living, and support therapy under RN supervision; required licensure, OBRA registry, and English proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Washington state license to practice as a nursing assistant certified.
• Active OBRA Registry status.
• Proficient in reading, writing and speaking English.
• Agency Required Competencies: ability to learn and grow; ability to meet the needs of others.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in the resident's care plan.
• Create and maintain professional relationships with residents and families.
• Support resident involvement in decision-making.
• Assist with therapies and treatments under licensed RN supervision.
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating and monitoring of meals as needed.
• Record vital signs and input/output; encourage fluids and collect specimens for lab use.
