Job summary

Primary Health Care, Inc. in Marshalltown, IA, is seeking a Medical Assistant or Medical Assistant Trainee to support clinical and administrative tasks at the Marshalltown Clinic. The position is full-time with evening hours and a rotating Saturday schedule.

Responsibilities include preparing for procedures, charting in the EHR, patient rooming, and administering medications under supervision. Training is provided for 6 months for trainees.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma, certificate, or Associate degree in Medical Assisting or high school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of one year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers within 90 days of employment.
• Mandatory Reporter Training for Child Abuse and Dependent Adult Abuse recognized by the State of Iowa.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with assigned Patient Care Team to provide healthcare in a clinic setting.
• Prepares for exam/procedure and assists provider; facilitates patient rooming and intake; obtains vital signs.
• Documents patient care accurately in the electronic health record and completes prior authorizations and referrals.
