Nationwide Children’s Hospital seeks a Laboratory Technician to perform routine and complex procedures in the CLIA laboratory, including specimen processing, reporting, and storage. The role emphasizes quality control, safety, and adherence to regulations in a high-volume pediatric lab environment.

The candidate should have at least two years of CLIA laboratory experience and may be involved in phlebotomy, maintenance, and QA activities.

Formación

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associate’s Degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology is required, OR successful completion of a military medical laboratory procedures course (50 weeks).
• ASCP certification is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Performs routine and complex procedures in the laboratory information system; may include phlebotomy, specimen collection, processing, reporting and storage.
• Maintains preventive maintenance, supply upkeep and quality control with proper documentation and communication.
• Upholds laws and regulations related to the position and reviews procedures as required.
• Delivers service excellence and quality patient care by adjusting communication styles for cultural differences and resolving client concerns.
• Maintains a safe environment; uses PPE and reports spills or hazards immediately; follows guidelines for patient information disclosure.
• Participates in quality assurance, continuing education, and department meetings.
